Point and shoot, and compact cameras in general, have been making a bit of a comeback in recent times, partly thought to be the result of social media trends.
I still have my Canon Ixus 90 IS (ELPH SD790 IS in the USA) which first came out in 2008. It is all metal, 10mpx and with a large screen (3 inch) on the back. Nothing innovative in most respects, just a solid piece of kit which still takes good, sharp photos.
Fits nicely into any pocket, the battery seems to last forever (still using the original battery) and it is great for everyday snaps.

Video, by today’s standards, is not particularly good but as the main use is for quick snaps when out and about then no big deal really.

It was a cold, overcast and drizzly September day…
