Restaurante El Deo is on Avenida de la Axarquia in Torre de Benagalbón, the main road along the coast. The rear of the restaurant overlooks the beach and the barbecue boat.
A spacious interior and quite a large beachside terrace. There is even a ballpit for kids, although you have to pay extra for that. Good idea though.
The menu is quite varied, with plenty of fish options as well as many ‘gluten-free’ items. They actually highlight the ‘gluten-free’ in much of their promotions.
We had a variety of dishes: clams, gambas pilpil, octopus, rosada and another large white fish, all of which were well cooked and tasty. The only complaint would be that the large fish, which was cooked on the coals, took rather a long time and everyone had finished everything else by the time it arrived. Not too tragic as the other dishes were being shared. Had everything been individual dishes the it would have been more of an issue.
Overall a good place, nice views, good food, reasonable prices, friendly service and generally a pleasant ambiance. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and I shall be returning!
