The Enlightenment Stupa is a religious monument erected on a platform in Benelmádena and affording panoramic views of the Costa del Sol. It was built with the blessing of Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche and with the help of the architect Wojtek Kossowsk.

Sixteen other Stupas were constructed during the latter years of Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche’s life, these being in Spain, Germany, Austria, Russia, Switzerland and Poland, and after his passing away and following his wish, three more Stupas were built in Denmark, Mexico and Greece.
The monument is 33 meters tall, has a base width of 25.8 meters and contains a meditation hall of more than 100 square metres. The area from the ceiling of the meditation hall up to the top of the building is completely filled with a vast number of sacred objects, such as religious manuscripts, Buddhist prayers and six thousand Buddha reliefs made from clay. The chambers containing these treasures are sealed forever.
