Cafeteria El Barrio is a fairly smallish establishment on, you guessed it, calle El Barrio in Nerja. The street terrace is great for watching the world go by as well as for drinks and tapas (tapas are free at the bar inside but you pay for them on the terrace), snacks and full meals.

I went for a sizzling dish of Gambas Pil Pil (spicy garlic shrimps) with, on this occasion, a nice cold beer (or two) rather than the more traditional red wine. There were a dozen absolutely delicious shrimpies… I finished with a café con leche and a nice big slice of chocolate cake.

Nice place, food is pretty good, nice varied tapas, good service…
