The 12th stage of La Vuelta de España passed along the N-340 and avda de Pescia in Nerja this afternoon – a now you see them, now they’re gone moment as they whizzed past. It seemed – and a few people remarked almost synchronously – that there were more police bikes and vehicles than actual cyclists. I think the Guardia Civil officers were thoroughly enjoying ‘gunning it’ from Plaza Cantarero and over the bridge at speeds more reminiscent of a TT race.
